Authentic Provence: Why choose “Slow Camping” in the Luberon?
We rush around all year long. Between constant notifications and the incessant noise of the city, silence has become the ultimate luxury. If you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for something different for your next holiday. Not a noisy club where you have to fight for a sun lounger, but a truly peaceful campsite in the Luberon where you can finally hear yourself think (and hear the cicadas).
Coming here means choosing to slow down. But be careful, not just anywhere. Located in the heart of the Regional Nature Park, in Apt, we invite you to discover why this land of ochre and light is the best antidote to modern stress.
💡 Expert tip: The Luberon is not a place to rush through. It is best experienced early in the morning at a market and savoured at the end of the day when the light gilds the old stones.

Apt is not only the world capital of candied fruit, it is also the ideal hub for exploring the region without spending hours in the car. By staying here, you are at the centre of everything, but far from the coastal crowds.
The must-sees (and how to see them differently)
Rather than rushing around, choose your visits carefully. Here are our “must-sees” in the immediate vicinity, and our tips for enjoying them at your leisure:
- Colorado Provençal (Rustrel): This is the Wild West of Provence. Our advice? Go there as soon as it opens. The morning light on the fairy chimneys is incredible, and you will have the trails all to yourself. More information on the Colorado Association website.
- The Ochre Trail (Roussillon): Just 15 minutes from the campsite, the village of Roussillon glows in the sunshine. To avoid the 2pm crowds, visit in the late afternoon when the contrasts between the red earth, green pine trees and blue sky are truly striking.
- The Grand Marché d’Apt: Classified as an “exceptional market”, it is a Saturday morning institution. To experience the “real” market, arrive around 8:30 a.m. You will see local producers setting up their melons and goat cheeses in an authentic atmosphere, before the crowds arrive.
- Gordes, the stone icon: Voted the most beautiful village in the world by certain magazines, Gordes is a must-see. The “Slow” tip? Admire it from the panoramic viewpoint on the road to Cavaillon at sunset. That’s when the magic really happens.
The hidden gems we adore
To add real value to your stay, here are two secrets we share with our residents:
- Le Rocher de Saignon: Just a few minutes from the campsite, this hilltop village offers a 360° panorama that is far more impressive than some of the more touristy spots, without the crowds.
- The Bruoux Mines: An impressive underground cathedral. It stays cool (10°C) all year round. To book your visit, remember to check the official website of the Bruoux Mines.

Camping Le Luberon: Extend the experience2. Camping Le Luberon: Extend the experience
But enjoying the region isn’t just about going from one sight to the next. It’s also about knowing where to stay so that the magic continues once the day is over. After feasting your eyes on Saignon or Rustrel, the last thing you want is to break that serenity by returning to a noisy and hectic place.
It is precisely to preserve this spirit that we designed our establishment. Located on Avenue de Saignon, our 4-star campsite is not just a place to sleep, it is a haven that allows you to stay connected to the nature you came to seek, without ever sacrificing your comfort.
A rare luxury: space and silence
In a world where everything is “bigger” and “stronger”, we remain true to our vision: a campsite on a human scale. With only 110 pitches, we are a far cry from tourist factories. Here, we often know your first name before the end of your stay. It is the very definition of a peaceful campsite in the Luberon.
💬 “An excellent, “human-sized” campsite where we enjoyed the peace and quiet, cleanliness and friendly welcome. A campsite to recommend for anyone who wants to enjoy everything there is to see in the surrounding area. We’ll be back!” — Alain R., stay in September 2025 (TripAdvisor review)
Comfort without concrete
Whether you are a purist when it comes to tents or a fan of absolute comfort, the experience should be seamless:
- For nature lovers: Spacious pitches, separated by vegetation to ensure your privacy.
- For a touch of luxury: Some of our mobile homes feature a private jacuzzi/spa. Imagine relaxing in bubbling water surrounded by nature after a hike.
Water, a source of freshness
Water as a refuge: here, swimming is not a source of excitement, but an invitation to relax.

Our aquatic centre is not a noisy amusement park, but a place to relax. Our pools are heated to 26 degrees. Whether you come on opening day on 3 April or to enjoy the Indian summer until 1 November 2026, swimming is always a pleasure, never a chore.
All you have to do is choose your deckchair, close your eyes, and let the Provence sunshine do the rest.

This is often the big question: “Will I get bored?” The answer is no. Calm does not mean boring!

We prioritise a warm atmosphere. In summer, we offer entertainment, but it remains low-key. The idea is to create connections, not impose a rhythm. It’s an opportunity to meet your neighbours, exchange “good hiking tips” or simply share a laugh on the restaurant terrace.

💬 “A beautiful place, we had a wonderful holiday, the chalets (Seouvo) are magnificent, and the private spa with its beautiful view is a real plus. We have fond memories of our stay and would like to thank the staff for their professionalism.” — Marie C., stay in August 2025
It is the ideal place for families who want to get together, sports enthusiasts looking for a comfortable base camp, and foodies who want to savour Provence.
