The Crests of the Grand Luberon
A sublime hike on the crests of the Grand Luberon, near Mourre-Nègre. You’ll discover the diversity of the Luberon’s landscapes in a single tour.
Starting from the small village of Sivergues, you first climb the mountain with superb views over the gorges and the massif. The elevation gain is there, but it increases gradually, and you will progress on a wide track with no technical difficulty.
After the effort, you will reach the ridge with the characteristic antenna marking the highest point of the Grand Luberon massif, the Mourre Nègre.
But even from here, the view is already magnificent, and on clear days, you can even admire the Etang de Berre and the Mediterranean Sea. You will walk for a while along the crest before turning to descend towards the Vallon de L’Aiguebrun. Along your path, you will notice the Buoux fort, a recommended visit, and numerous climbers on the imposing cliffs in front of you. Buoux is a highly renowned rock climbing spot.
The section in the Aiguebrun valley is perhaps the wildest and certainly the most refreshing by the river. A real treat on hot summer days.
